# ChessVG

> ChessVG is a free, browser-based tool for creating and exporting customizable chess board images and diagrams (PNG and SVG) for social media, video thumbnails, blog articles, and teaching material. No account, nothing uploaded to a server, and no forced watermark.

ChessVG runs entirely in the browser. Set up any position by dragging pieces or pasting a FEN (illegal and artificial setups are allowed, because it is an image tool, not an engine), or load a real puzzle from the free Lichess puzzle database. Choose from 14 piece sets and a dozen curated themes with fully custom square, frame and background colors, corner radius, padding, shadow and coordinates. Export a high-resolution PNG at any square resolution, a scalable vector SVG, or a one-click social-media size for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Reddit, X and YouTube — including a transparent background for overlays. Saved templates let you re-apply a signature style in one click.

ChessVG is made by the team behind ChessSolve. It is an independent tool and is not affiliated with Chess.com or Lichess; the chess piece artwork and puzzles come from the open-source Lichess project.
